I remembered the first two grunts, but forgot the third one, so in my blind what-do-I-do-ness, I walked back down those stairs and tirggered him. Not knowing where he was, I ran right through the intersection he spawns at and hid in the room with the candle and no door, across from the lantern oil.
Now I've been sitting here for like 15 minutes and I'm pretty sure he's camping just outside the room. Wonderful.
I tried to inch around to make him go away, but it wasn't working, so I threw the chair out into the hallway, but it hit the door frame, upgradding from "maybe he's outside" to "defenitely he's outside". But he still wasn't doing anything, so I tried inching around a bit more...
And then I jumped.
Long story short, he came in, hit me, I ran, threw a chair at him, he killed me. First time I ever screamed playing this.
I know it kinda breaks the idea of the game, but I want to finish it still... and I was SOOOOO scared in here D: really to the extend of being NOT fun anymore and wanting to remove the game and never open it again in my entire LIFE!
I'm gonna try to do A machine for Pigs without maps though...! But since I've never, ever played horror games before and I basically even find one person shooters scary (and those were never designed to be scary anyway), even games like Fable make me creep sometimes, hence what a nightmare this was (don't ask me why I wanted to play this. I don't know myself either), so... even WITH maps it's scary for me, lol!
But... so here are also poofy things that don't hurt you? Ok, that's good to know, since if I see a monster that isn't on the map I know I don't have to fear it. Though I probably will (since even being killed isn't so bad. It's not the consequence that's scary, but... I dunno, the rest?)
And if you never play horror games, these are probably not the best games for you, haha. :]

Yeaa... probably...
